Quantum Control Physicist (remote-ish)

Permanent employee, Full-time · Remote

What we do
What you can do with a quantum computer in 2022 is still quite underwhelming. It’s slow, very error-prone, and scientists spend an enormous amount of time just optimizing their setups. We are gathering the brightest minds to solve this! Join us on our journey to become the world’s leading scientific machine learning company. We work remotely, and meet physically once a month for planning, brainstorming and shared meals.
Why we need you
As we build the tools to help scientists better calibrate their quantum devices, we need a team of physicists that both understand the pains of experimentalists (spending days tuning up their system before every data-taking) and the advantage that software & automation services can bring to this process.
Your profile
  • Strong background in Control of Quantum Systems (PhD or equivalent experience)
  • Experimental Physics experience is strongly preferred
  • Trapped ion, superconducting or semiconductor qubit systems experience is strongly preferred
  • You must enjoy programming and building software systems
  • Must reside near EU time-zone (CET±1)
What we need for your application
Your CV is a good start. But, what we’d really like to see is that you have a proven track record of projects and work in the relevant field. So if you can send us a link to your GitHub, recent projects or real-world examples of what you have done so far, that would be great. Before applying, please think about the following:
  • What is something you accomplished which you are really proud of?
  • What are the subjects that you're excited about?
  • What are the things you taught yourself?
  • What is something you would like to improve at?
Perks & benefits
  • 30 days of paid vacation a year
  • Part-time options
  • Remote work by default
  • Choose your own work computer
  • Budget for home office equipment
  • Flexible working hours
  • Travel / Co-working space cost reimbursement
  • Regular company-paid team-events
